Here
is the Bouncing Baby Boomer Band Featuring the Legendary Boomettes on
the biggest stage we've ever played in 1987. We came in second in a '50s
battle of the bands. The top three bands opened for Nostalgiafest at
Portland Meadows, the horse track in Portland Oregon. It was supposed
to be a big happening! Car show, Venders, Dancing, and Nostalgia Bands
playing all day long, with Paul Revere And The Raiders finishing off the day.
The mastermind behind this event put this show up against the Mt Hood Jazz
Festival. The Raiders wanted their money up-front before they would
play. Hardly anyone came
so he didn't have the money then. The police had to be called to calm the small
riot caused by the few people who stuck around to see the Raiders,
that never went on stage. The
guy that put on the event lost his shirt, and our check bounced. But isn't
that a big stage!! The picture was taken from a sound and light tower
behind the audience! (I won't say crowd).
